Through Conscious Movement, Jules Paxton is the Empowerment Practitioner and Fitness Curator for the 21st Century.
Recognized for his potent insight into the mind-body connection the world over, Jules has been inspiring and transforming himself and his students for more than 25 years. Through his palpable healing energy and acute sensitivity to movement, he has shown thousands that what they have been seeking outside themselves is already within.
Born in 1965 to exiled Cuban parents in Miami, Florida, Jules began his life in the turmoil and terror of the Cuban revolution. His father was deeply entrenched in counter-revolutionary activity against the Castro regime. This was a traumatic childhood where Jules grew up an overweight and highly self-conscious young boy. It wasn’t until Jules started college that his father’s paranoid stranglehold began to give way. In the beginning, Jules found a way out of his misery by discovering the joy and beauty in classical literature and philosophy. By the time he left college he had shed his excess weight and began to experience moments of transcendental joy and peace.
In three years time, Jules earned dual baccalaureate degrees in Literature and International Economics with the highest honors. He further earned a Masters of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. After Georgetown, Jules went on to study law at Columbia University. Then a series of powerful mystical experiences and an onset of a deep depression, forced him to leave law school without knowing what he was going to do.
To pull himself out of his depression, he entered the “Temple of Fitness”… the modern day gym. Eventually, he became a successful competitive bodybuilder. Inspired by his own personal experiences of exercise, he continued to seek other spiritual practices to refine both his physical and mental performance. For over two decades Jules has studied Iyengar Yoga, Anusara yoga, Alexander Technique, Reiki, and numerous other mind-body disciplines.
Jules Paxton is a lifelong seeker, passionately enrolled in the path to create mental equilibrium, physical strength, flexibility, and spiritual attunement for himself and for all of his clients. He is an advanced facilitator of personal growth experiences. Using movement, healing and exploratory dialogue, he guides students through memorable, powerful, tangible, and often instantaneous moments of life-lasting personal transformation.
His introspective quest combined with his longing to be of utmost service to humanity has resulted in his development of The Conscious Movement. This innovative approach and unique understanding of Fitness has made him one of the most sought out empowerment practitioners today. Featured in various publications including The New York Times, Tatler, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, The Observer and a variety of television programs.
